As many of you will be aware we are working on something new. We had originally intended to re work Golgothica yet again, but to be honest we were not very happy after traffic dropped off and once again the sim was pretty much empty most of the time. This is not a good base from which to attempt to re structure a sim. And definitely it does not inspire confidence to invest a great deal of time, effort and money into something that has not work well twice before. We will therefore be opening a completely new sim. It will be an entirely new build and RP setup. We believe that the best way to describe it for now, until we release the opening notes in a week or so time, is “And now for something completely different”

On Sunday evening SLT, we will have to close Golgothica for major renovation.
If you are currently renting an apartment or a store in Golgothica, we will refund you for the remaining rental cost.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and of course we will inform you when we are ready to reopen the SIM.
Oh BTW Kora forgot to mention that there is now a block move you can use in combat.
Some people make a great fuss when they make tiny changes to their game meters, but hey, we make so many we forget J
To use this move hold down the left Mouse button and press the C key.
This will reduce by 50% any hit that your opponent scores on you while you hold the block.
But you will at the same time loose 2 points of Stamina per hit.
Just as reminder, Magic HUDs are not allowed.
They are SUPER LAGGY ( I tested a few of them). The amount of particles they spawn is so big that they can freeze everybody’s viwer, and they are often just plain griefing tool.
As you might have read, we will have magic crafts in the upcoming releases.
Proposed changes to Golgothica
Most of these changes are inspired by referendums, feedback we have already received
After much initial disappointment and many requests, we will be reinstating the original Golgothica back story and groups into the sim in order to inject it with some solid basis fro RP which many have missed. This story will of course need some tweaking to fit the new locations etc.
– adding the magic crafts as skills for supernaturals and wytches
– adding city laws and crimes to the game
– adding trials and prosecutors
– adding outlaws as human group (fighting against the oppressors – but weaker than supernatural)
– adding the bounty hunters (who fight and catch criminals who break city laws) and take them to trial
– adding clans
We would of course be interested to hear any feed back on these proposed changes.
Please remember to pick up your prims. Once the rental has expired, we will send the prims back at you (likely because hte next tenant has already moved in). We have heard that occasionally things get lost in SL inventories (even in the Lost & Found folders), so don’t forget to clean up.
Also you can use the menu and click on ‘Terminate’ to close the rental and stop receiving reminders.
There are some upgrades related to the Bounty Board:
– bounties who were not redeemed for 2 months will be deleted.
– only one bounty on the same person at a time is allowed.
– money will be taken from your bank account, so make sure that you have enough money in your bank account before submitting a new bounty.
Based on the vote count, 18 players were against adding crime system to Golgothica, and 35 players were in favor.
Therefore, we will set things up, and make the changes to the scripts so we will run a crime system that is a good fit for Golgothica. More info to come.

If you do and you plan to run events, you may need:
a) permission to send notices to promote the events;
b) rezz permission for the event (being part of the ‘SGS Estate’ group).
(But remember to remove the prims after the event).
If you need a) or b) IM Kora or Baal.
The blacksmith is now offering a treasure hammer for sale in game money (G$500) if you have been in Golgothica for at least 7 days (game days). Once you get the hammer, go and find the jars around the town. When you find one, touch it and start smashing it with the hammer to open. If you get an item, it will be saved in your game inventory for later use. Also you will have to pick if you want to save the item for later use or sale.
The RP Business Owners are asking for the cash tills. Cash tills are only fair if players have the chance to steal from it.If we allow people to steal from it, it would be fair only if they pay for their crime. If players pay for their crime, then we need a justice system with trial or so on. So in summary, if we add the cash tills, we will need the whole justice system. Now Baal and I have decided to let you vote for it, so we will know what the majority of players in Golgothica wish to do in this regard. If most players want the justice system, keep in mind that vampires and demons will likely be unpunished, while villagers will pay for everything.
To vote, please use the referendum skull in the Game Room at the entrance of Golgothica. Only Golgothica SGS players (minimum age: 3 days) can vote.
PS: Someone asked if we are going to have an Outlaw/Knight group in Golgothica, if the YES wins.
The answer is NO.
If the YES wins, it is likely that we will add a job for Vampire/Demons/Werevolves as ‘Bounty Hunter’, and those who commit crime will be hunted for a bounties etc.
Also the jury will be form by Predators groups.
Anyway the details on how this is going to work will be discussed later on.
I don’t know if you have noticed that yet, but several businesses in Golgothica has become for rental in G$.
So if you are interested in renting it and promoting roleplay in that role, contact either me, Baal, Tim or Toecutter.
Latest Changes in this release:
a) Low-Damage weapons won’t work in Safezones anymore (but players won’t be able to activate Safezone if they are in the middle of a fight / capture)
b) Low-Damage weapons will work on Captured Preys, and they will inflict damage, but the Predator won’t be able to steal the prey from the current Owner
c) When you pay another player, a message will be shown in local chat (to avoid confusion).
d) A bug was fixed in the Prey transfer from one owner to another – on the owner request.
Upgrades are available for free in the Game Room – at the entrance of the SIM.
You should upgrade it, but this is not a mandatory release.
Now, the code for safezone is updated everywhere.
If you are in the middle of a fight/capture (so your stamina is less than your max ), you won’t be able to set your meter to safezone. This way we hope that people will not try to run to safezones when they are about to lose anymore.
Once you click on the safezone, there won’t be any delay to process the safezone anymore.
If you are owned (or prisoner) and you pickpocket, your ransom fee will be automatically paid and you will regain freedom. The reason of it is because an owned prey cannot be beaten up and whipped for pickpocketing, and it is not fair that he or she won’t face any consequence. Once you regain freedom, the victim may whip you or whatever 😛
I was asked to explain this, so here you go.
This is just for a quick bugfix for transfer of owned prey when the name of the player was mispelled.
Upgrade is optional and free. To get an upgrade of the HUD, just to go the game room and touch the sign on the wall.
No need to upgrade weapons.
This upgrade is mandatory.
1.) Captures/Kills from distance were occasionally not counted. Now this should be fixed.
2.) The captures from Imp (and other situations) were successful with predators too (whoopsie). Now this has been fixed.
