Report a Crime

To submit a crime report, go to the Knight HQ (at KOS) or Guard Room (in Venexia) or wherever it is the crime report book.

Before submitting one, please write a notecard with all the relevant facts and description of the event.

The notecard must be:

  • Full Permission
  • No more than 255 characters on each line (everything else will be removed)
  • No more than 2000 characters in total.
  • Please do not post chat log directly.
  • The notecard and the report will be made public, so avoid any derogatory comment, and keep it IN-CHARACTER.

Once you are ready, touch the book and confirm you are ready to submit a crime report.

To drop the notecard:

  • Drag the notecard from your SL inventory,
  • and Drop it into the prim WHILE holding down your CTRL key.
  • If you got everything right, just before release it, you will see the prim framed in red.

Now, you will be asked these questions. Please type your answers in local chat:

  • Name of the criminal
  • Short Description of the crime
  • Amount of money that was related to this crime (if any)
  • Witnesses (if any)

If you got everything right, you will be given a URL to verify the copy of the report.

Crime reports will be discarded if there is an active RP ban between ‘victim’ and ‘perpetrator’.

Crime Investigation

Once the crimes are submitted, a picture will be added to the Crimes To Investigate Board.

The use of this board is restricted to Knights (for KOS) and Inquisitori (for Venexia). Other players may touch the board and get Info about specific crime reports.

When you click on the board (each picture), you will see a menu with this options:

  • INFO: Read current crime sheet for this alleged crime
  • RELOAD: Update Crime Board (the board is updated automatically every 20 minutes or so).
  • INVESTIGATE: Start the investigation on this case. Limit 1 at a time. You will be assigned as Investigator for this case, and only you will be able to submit the investigation report.

Once you are the assigned Investigator on a case, you will also have these menu options:

  • STOP: Stop this investigation, and allow others to take it on. (it may happen if you find yourself busy and unable to follow up)
  • CONFIRM: Confirm the crime AFTER your investigation
  • DISMISS: Dismiss the crime AFTER your investigation

Please confirm crimes when there are enough solid evidences. Once crimes are confirmed, the alleged criminal will be prosecuted by law and arrested and taken to trial.

To confirm or dismiss a crime report, you will have to submit a notecard with the findings about the investigation. Notecard must be:

  • Full Permission
  • No more than 255 characters on each line (everything else will be removed)
  • No more than 2000 characters in total.
  • Please do not post chat log directly.
  • The notecard will be made public, so avoid any derogatory comment, and keep it IN-CHARACTER.

Once a crime report is either confirmed or dismissed, it will be removed from this board.

Exception

Crime Reports submitted by Knights and Palace Guards (for KOS) and Inquisitors (for Venexia) won’t need a further investigation, since they are reported directly by the members of Justice. Those reports will be automatically ‘approved’ , and become alleged crimes right away.
