So does this mean that I have to Capture or be captured to play here. ?

If you believe that you can fit your RP around the above stated prime purpose then by all means give it a go. You will of course have to become a Predator of some type, if you choose Prey we cannot save you from the possible consequences. And you must of course wholly except the above stated purpose of the game, and not seek to meddle with the roleplay of those that do..

So what is the average Predator like in Golgothica.

Well, they are first and foremost into hunting and capturing Prey.
They have come here to express their desires to  dominate lesser beings, to capture,
maybe even collect them, in order to satisfy their sexual desires, whatever form those desires may take, from simple verbal dominance to complicated bondage and sadomasochistic rituals.
But, unlike in straight up contemporary BDSM sims, they wish to do this through the medium of a fantasy character who they feel embodies their vision of this dominate personality within them.
A fantasy character who exists in this fantasy world called Golgothica.
They wish to use this character to Role Play out their darkest hidden desires and to experiment with situations to possibly fantastic for RL.
All we have done is added some simple game mechanics to hopefully enhance this basic play, and a beautiful location in which these possibly beastly acts might be performed.

So what is average Prey like in Golgothica

Well, they are first and foremost into being hunted down and captured by Predator types.
They have come here to express their desires to submit to Dominant creatures of all kinds.
To be captured, enslaved, tied up, bound, chained. To become a plaything of a beastly Master or Mistress, an object of subtle or gross sexual pleasure subject to the whim of their captors.
They will of course hide these submissive desires and Role Play anything but this desire for capture, but it is this need to explore that drives them to give themselves over to the desires of others, whatever form those desires may take, from simple verbal dominance to complicated bondage and sadomasochistic rituals.
But, unlike in straight up contemporary BDSM sims, they wish to do this through the medium of a fantasy character who they feel embodies their vision of this submissive personality hidden within them.
A fantasy character who exists in this fantasy world called Golgothica.

This sim is an expression of the beauty and the beast storyline in many ways.
Of course a Predator does not need to portray a common beast, they do say the devil is a charming Man.
Neither must a Prey be weak or overtly submissive in appears or style. Many hunters take pleasure only in bringing down the strongest of beasts.

Please think about all this

If you cannot grasp at all what drives people to want to become either of the above character types then you could be in the wrong place.

 

About CARP

Golgothica is a FORCED CAPTURE role play sim.
It is extremely important that you fully understand what this means before you attempt to play here.
Especially if you choose Prey as your meter Tag.
You will be given a choice of becoming Predator or Prey when you enter the game.

If you choose Predator then the type of role play and those who you choose to capture will be pretty much left up to you within the rules of the game.
This role also carries a great deal of responsibility towards those whom you capture.

If you choose Prey then you are putting yourself at the mercy of these Predators, and that means any Predator who takes a fancy to you.

Capture role play, CARP for short, is almost as old as SL.
Philosophically it has a great concept
It is about two different kinds of mental attitudes, Dominant and Submissive, and about the ways in which they interact and fulfil each others fantasies.
SL is a great place to explore this interaction because, unless you are mentally deficient in some way, you will immediately realise the total control which you actually have over all situations.
What happens here exists in the minds of those who play.
Of course we cannot guard against those who allow their minds to become the toys of their captors.
This is their trip, and maybe in the end the dreadfulness of their encounters might actually help them in RL where these things are not so controllable.
Think about it

If the thought of being RP used and abused by an unknown entity is not your scene then do not become a Prey.
If you have limits to your RP then state them clearly in your profile.

We will expect ALL Predators to make themselves fully aware of the limits of all those they capture.
We will deal harshly with those who ignore another’s stated limits.

Assuming that you understand the above, please read on.

Forced capture means that you should not assume to pick and choose your captor.

This is not a dating agency where you wait for just the right person to come along, or pick and choose those who you will or will not play with.

Of course any Prey is welcome within the rules of the game to find subtle legal ways to avoid capture.
To maybe tempt and tantalise the Predator by leading them to the brink of submission, only to dash their hopes of domination by skilful evasion.

But by definition a Prey is here to be captured, so if you find yourself always avoiding capture then you have obviously chosen the wrong path.

The word forced, as far as our game goes, is here applied to role play only, not real play.

How far you chose to let your game relationships stray into RL is up to you, but such actions take you beyond the game and therefore beyond our council.
However, we do not condone the practice of Predators forcing their way into the RL feelings and lives of their prey.

If a Predator does this against the will of a Prey then they may possibly, and most likely will be banned.

But having said that, we are not here to deal with the emotional messes that others make of their second lives.

So if you have a serious complaint relating to any form of harassment from another player, then you must report it to Linden Labs and not to us, there you will hopefully find more satisfaction than the meagre Sim bans which we can impose.

RP Limits.

If you have limits to your RP then state them clearly in your profile.
We will expect all Predators to make themselves fully aware of the limits of all those they capture.
And we will deal harshly with those who ignore another’s stated limits.

There is a very subtle mutual understanding here that all players must share.
You are here to have fun, even if that fun takes the form of extremes that other might think sick or disgusting.
If you do not tell others of the things that upset you then do not complain to us if you find yourself confronted by them.
Each must try to discover the delights of the other and base their interactive RP upon them.
Your partner not a mechanical means of masturbation, and they will not be impressed by silent self pleasure.
Always, always remember that there is a real person behind the Avatar.
