Group Structure in Venexia

Titles of Rank in the Sabats of Venexia.

Generic
Should an Outlander find themselves in any unfamiliar Court, they may use these generally recognised terms when addressing those of Rank
Coven Leaders: My Lord/ My Lady
Second in Command: Sir/ Madam
Other ranks are addressed by name.

All Coven Hierarchies  are based upon the same structure as follows:

1). Leader Male/ Female
There can be only one Male and possibly one Female Leader per Coven.

2). Second in Command
Advisor to the Leader who can act on their behalf should they be unable to attend events etc  They oversees the day to day running of affairs within the coven. They also pass on the wishes of the Coven leaders to the rest of the coven usually via the Overseer rank.
There should only be one second

3). Overseer and organiser of the common members.
It is the job of the Overseer rank to protect the Coven leaders and also to enforce discipline within the ranks. They are usually skilled in combat, tough and very loyal to the Coven
This rank also leads and organises Aggression and Protection activities should the leader request them.
If there are Coven wars then this rank will become the commander of the warriors.
They are the link between the Coven leaders and the ordinary rank and file.
If a non ranking member has a complaint they usually pass it first to the Tribune who judges if it is worth taking higher.
There can be 2 possibly more in this rank, but the more there are the more authority is diluted.

4). Potential Candidate for advancement.

This rank is usually given by the Overseer Rank to any coven member who seems to stand out above the rest, it is a recognition of Potential. They are also chosen to do the more mundane “fetch and carry” jobs as a test of their resolve and their loyalty to the coven.

5).  General Coven Members.

Notes:

Should the coven leader leave the game completely without prior notice the coven will be disbanded.
However the second in command will not be hindered in their attempt to form a Coven along the same lines as the disbanded one.
If the coven leader has to leave the game due to RL issues then the second in Command  will automatically take the role of leader until their return. They will then select their own second in command.

Note about coven ranks:

The position of leader may not be challenged by any member including the Second in command.
In Vampire Society this would not bee seen as an act of superiority but an act of mutiny.
Any member who wishes to be coven leader must start their own coven.
If you can talk the talk then you must walk the walk.
If you believe that a coven leader is unpopular and that you could do better yourself then it is up to you to form your own Coven, not try to steal one already made.
It will then be up to you to attempt to attract Members of your previous coven to your new Coven.
In this way will you show superiority, not by the re hashing of others ideas and feeding off of their hard work.

Note for coven leaders:
It is not totally against the rules to make up your own titles of rank within your Coven. But please bare in mind that titles become less meaningful when not shared or recognised by the whole sim.
Players from other Covens will also not be forced to use unofficial titles, so they will only have worth within your Coven.
Also if you chose to use your own titles you must be able to equate them to those used in the rest of your Sabat for when you attend larger Sabat meetings.
